June gave me a trip to Chatanooga for a photography class for my birthday. Photographing was a challenge. Other than the flowers, parots, and butterlfies all the pictures were through glass, which was sometimes pretty dirty.
Pictures taken while hiking Mammoth Cave National Park. We found the woods above the caves much more interesting than the cave itself. We were there in the wildflower season and you'll find many wildflower pictures here.
I spent 3 days at an Outdoor Photography Workshop at the Great Smoky Mountain Institute at Tremont. The instructors were excellent. This is some of my favorites from the weekend.
DuPont State Forest in Western North Carolina. Donated to the state by DuPont chemical company it is now one of the most beautiful places to hike in the area. Three major waterfalls are captured here include Hooker Falls, Triple Falls, and High Falls.
Pictures from our 25 Aniversary Trip to the Canadian Rockies in September 2007. We spent 7 days in the mountains, took 1,300 pictures and tried to narrow down to the "Top 40" but ended up with "The Even Eighty".
At 6,593 feet elevation, Mount LeConte is one of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park's highest peaks. It is actually the "tallest" mountain in the Eastern United States, rising over a vertical mile from Gatlinburg. The lodge provides rustic accomodations. The only way to get to the lodge is to hike.
We hiked up the Rainbow Falls trail, 6.7 miles. It had snowed two days before and there was still 4" of snow in the last mile.
This album also includes some pictures from the Roaring Fork Motor Trail.
