The Eastman Camera Club took a day trip to Dupont State Forest in Oct. 2009. We went for fall color and waterfalls. The day was overcast, cool and breezy and the color wasn't great. They had a lot of rain leading up to that Saturday so the waterfalls were very full.
Dupont State Forest is a great place to hike, mountain bike and just enjoy the scenery. There are many waterfalls, great trails, good parking, and a few pretty lakes. If you visit, you'll want to go back.
Macro photography of flowers of all kinds, including cut flowers, flowers in the garden, wildflowers, and even some weeds. A fellow photographer says a weeds is just a flower growning in the wrong spot.
These were taken on the first two weekends of April 2010. Laurel Run Park is in Church Hill, Tennessee. It was created to film the movie "The River" and then donated to the town. The park is full of a wide variety of wildflowers every spring, many right along the park entrance road, but many others are on the trail that follows Laurel Run Creek to Laurel Run Falls.
Photos from a day's hiking in Pisgah National Forest near Brevard NC. This is the "Land of Waterfalls". We did't make a dent in the list of places to hike and things to see. We're going to have to go back!
I attened the Grandfather Mountain Nature Photography Weekend June 4 - 6 and had a blast! There were maybe 150 nature photographers camping and climbing all over the mountain taking photos. Add on top lectures by well known professional photographers and you have a great weekend. These are my favorites from that weekend.
Richard and June5 viewsThis was taken on the Crabtree Falls Trail. We picked a beautiful section.

The End of Aspens9 viewsIt hadn't been that long since the Aspen leaves were still on the trees. These were on the forest floor next to the Cub Lake Trail.
Gold Camp Road4 viewsThis dirt road crosses the higher elevations of Cheyenne Canon Park, going through rough rock tunnels and narrow passages.
Place of 1000 Drips47 viewsThis is on the Roaring Fork Motor Trail. Water trickles down the rock face.
Double Arch Alcove19 viewsTwo arches, one above the other. These are blind arches attached to the canyon walls. The walls rise 1,500' and keep this alcove cool. Water seeps out of the rock.
